Sand +SAK. How to clean?

so I left my SAK when I went on holiday in August and it ended up getting sand inside from my bag. What's the best way to clean it?

I've tried opening all the tools and wiping inside with a cloth, but there is still some sand stuck in the mechanism.

I thought of just using rinsing out with water, is there a better way?

I've never tried it but maybe a low temp dishwasher?

Just wash it out with water dude, little oil on the joints when dry

rinse it out under running water, use a toothpick to get any stubborn grains out, then I'd give it a blast with WD40 to drive out moisture.

Hot soapy water with stuff brush.
Rinse with cold water and allow to dry in airing cupboard or somewhere warm and then spray with wd40 or similair

Its then as good as new

Just wash it, warm or hot, bit of fairy liquid and away you go.

OK, cheers guys. So the verdict is wash with water (and maybe soap) + spray with WD40. I'll give it a go!

My SAK survived a go through the washing machine on a 40degree wash and spin - came up a treat!
