Good evening and merry Christmas to you and your familys my friends.

I’ve got a book for Christmas in which a green braided band for carrying binoculars around the neck is shown.
I saw the same in the Shows from mr. Ray Mears.

Does anyone know exactly what kind of rope / band is used and what braiding technique is used to attach it on the small slits on the binocular?

That looks to be a 3 or 4 strand plait/braid, pretty easy to make. The cobra knot suggested above might be a better option as it's flat not round. Cord type is going to be dependant on the width of the strap slits.

I'd reckon a piece of webbing would be a better bet.

Clearly I wasn't the only one who thought of doing that. Though I did mine about three years ago, don't know how long he did his. But if I did mine first then Ray copied me!

Anyway. I used paracord (not the genuine stuff) with a simple 3-strand right-over-middle-left-over-middle braid:
