Where can I get smaller stuff sacks?

The little net bags that come with washing powder are quite handy! (though no use for tent pegs)

    Keeping your camp tidy

^That. It's much easier to lose something when it's left on the floor!

    bushcraft myths

I seem to recall that the 80% commonly bandied about was more a case that if you are in cold conditions, dressed to the nines and don't have a hat on, that you'll lose 80% of heat through the head - rather than 80% of body heat departing via the bonce under 'normal operation'. As has been...

    Bushcraft / Scout webbing setup

Probably not fitted properly - the belt may be too loose. The belt should take pretty much 100% of the weight; wear the webbing without using the shoulder straps and jump up and down two or three times, the webbing shouldn't fall down. The yoke basically just stops the kit slipping down over...

    Are you ready?

I'll bet you £1,000 that the world doesn't end.

Cleaning a mouldy smelling pvc waterproof jkt??

Fair enough, but I've seen surplus Goretex jackets for £15!

    Tarp tent

Simplest thing to do is just make sure that your tarp is tight (so that water doesn't drip off of low points) and that you don't come into contact with it - that way it doesn't matter if it's wet on the inside!

Cleaning a mouldy smelling pvc waterproof jkt??

For a PVC w/proof jacket I'd recommend fire, although that's probably not the sort of help you were hoping for. Splash out a bit on the Goretex - there's a reason PVC's so cheap!

What to put in a first aid kit?

Pretty much agreed (although I'd change the insulation tape for actual bandage tape, and add a pair of scissors and a pair of tweezers). Add some blister care stuff and a few over the counter medicines (ibuprofen, anti-histamines, etc) and you're away.

    What head torch??

Love my Tikka+, wouldn't leave home without it! Great battery life.

    Litter louts - gotcha!

Presumably comes under the heading of discretion. What the Plod are essentially saying is "undo the crime and we'll call it quits", which seems entirely reasonable.

Anyone know where can I get cheap whisky?

Remember that the duty on a litre of whisky (plus the VAT on that duty) is £12.86 alone, so you're going to struggle to get anything cheaper than £15 a litre.

    zip ties as snares

Ha! In all seriousness though, if you think of a cable tie it's a single loop. If you're using that loop as a snare, how do you attach the other end? It's a plastic tape, so you can't really tie it to anything...

    zip ties as snares

Also, even if you could get it to work surely you'd have difficulty securely attaching the other end to something?

anyone ever made a paracord dog collar

As S2000 says, I'd want something that's going to break eventually - so if you do use paracord, make sure there's some sort of weak link in there somewhere.

    Beans on toast

There's the start of a truly magnificent Full English in there somewhere!

    The Fashion Thing.

He could maybe get away with it in Milton Keynes?

Mosquito Repellents - any advise please.

I find that the only thing that works for me is 50DEET + citronella... It seems to be an individual thing - some people are more prone and so need more protection, others are lucky! I'm not one of the lucky ones.

    sleeping bag or blanket?

Blankets/duvets are designed for comfort, sleeping bags are designed to maximise the insulation for a given weight/volume - if you're going anywhere that needs much insulation and you're carrying it then I'd always go for a sleeping bag. Duvets are great if camping from the car though!

    are leather straps comfy???

I could suggest a few mods for the '58 pattern 'large' pack, but they mostly involve dousing it in some sort of flammable liquid and setting it on fire...
