That looks better epecialy if only £5 pppn. I presume it has some facilitys being Scoutgrounds and the fires have to be raised?

I was possibly offered a Scout ground yesterday but there isn’t much in the way of woodland and no fire pits only raise fires.

I haven't had a reply back from the Basingstoke site yet so the scout ground sounds good.

Not too sure about the days as its my birthday that weekend, I will see if the wife has planned anything but pencil me in for now.

Are we looking for certified camp sites (that allow fires etc) or just some woodland to go play in?

My mate knows the local farmers, and one of them owns woodland. If there's no news on the other sites then I can get the details and ask if we can use his site for a couple of nights?

Just looked at the Inwood / Forgewood site - they don't open until 04th May 2012. Shame as that place looks idea. Struggling to find campsites that allow fires and are in / around woodland - I'll keep looking though :D

I'm enquiring about a woods near Petersfield which is used by Scouts for bushcraft but think it will be no water or toilets just woods. Anymore progress on the other Scout camp Tom?

I've tried a few sites, but none of them are willing to allow a fire (or naked flame?) so they're a no-go.
Looks like the scout camps are probably the best idea (providing they reply!)

I know of a campsite in Lymington that allows fires but is an open field with no woodland. I'm still trying to find out about the Scout land near Petersfield at present.

There's a campsite near me that allows fires (off the ground) and has woodland, problem is its purbecks, not strictly Hampshire I know. depends if anyone is willing to travel, I mean I was willing to drive from Bournemouth to north Hampshire so you never know. Here it is anyway.

Hi All,

Southey pointed me in the direction of this thread. Depending on dates etc, I'd be happy to host this at my woodlands near Alton.

I'm pretty busy over March - June so proably wouldn't be able to attend myself to be able to unlock the gate for 4x4's to get somewhat closure, but if you are all happy walking in then Southey and Bushwacker Bob knows the score with using the woodlands.

If you want to use the woodlands let me know dates and numbers etc, best to email or call me on the mobile listed on my website.

I would simply request a £10/person contribution to the site costs.

SWEET! Many thanks Andy:You_Rock_

If you guys fancy it, its a cracking bit of woodland, No toilets or water as its a wood, it looks like this,

or this

215439_10150237844189073_539479072_8650168_984818_n.jpg

sometimes has this in it,

the track leading up to the gate(not suitable for non off roaders unless you brave) has space for max three 4x4 at the the gate end and I think 4\5 cars at the lane end,

what do you reckon?
