    Alpina Sports Ancho Knife

Looks decent for the price if you want a stainless blade. I haven’t personally used one of these, however the hultafors heavy duty craftsman knife has a very similar price point and is of similar design. The only obvious difference is the hultafors has a carbon blade. Absolutely fantastic...

    Original Lofty Wiseman knife sharpening

I also think learning to do it yourself is invaluable. If however you didn't fancy learning at this point I'd be happy to sharpen it for you if you paid the shipping.

    New Scandi knife

Another knife i've handled- the handle is spalted beech, the blade is made by polar. My leather work is much to be desired! Criticisms and opinions on how to improve would be much appreciated. :)

    New knife

If i remember rightly it goes about 2/3 down the pommel section, so hopefully i will have no problems there. It was easy enough to drill as the individual pieces of wood involved are not particularly long on their own and the tang on the blade i used was unusually long :) I have had problems...

    New knife

Thanks for the kind words! Bushwacker bob- Its a puronvarsi blade; so yes it is rombic- good eye! You're right its a nightmare to work, but gives a lovely finish after a somewhat traumatic amount of time sanding.

    Good but reasonably priced rucksack?

If you look on ebay for an oldish Karrimor rucksack you can pick those up for 20 quid downwards, they were bomb proof, I have an old karrimor jaguar that is really well made.

    New knife

Here's a knife I put a handle on, wood is purpleheart and burr elm and the blade is 125mm long. Be critical! Its far from perfect but its nice to work with :).

    Knife making wip

Nice work! Did the rasp knife take a lot of grinding? I have a few old files I fancy shaping into a knife instead of my usual practice of using a pre-made blade and handling it; I was wondering how much work is involved, file steel is hard! ATB- John.

    Double bit axe handles

To be honest if you can source some decent ash, its not to difficult to have a crack at yourself; if you fancy a bit of woodwork that is :p

    newly restored axe

Cheers guys, the ash came from a timber yard in the form of a rather large plank, so a lot of work was involved in shaping!
