Thanks guys, the tools that I use are a set of Flexcut chisels, did start with a set of eBay cheapies for my first one but soon found them not up to the task, and my own custom little neck knife.

I rehandled one of these for a lady deer stalker who had broken the handle, not quite sure how, but I rehandled in burr elm for her and had to re-grind the tip which she also broke off.
Just waiting on her returning it broken again, she really puts her blades through the mill.
I harvest my sticks in winter and then store flat in racks in the garage roof. I then leave them for 18 months until they are fully season them, straighten them in a steam pipe to achieve the level of straightness that I require. I then trim the straightened sticks to a rough length longer...
Thanks guys, sticks are my favourite thing to make, but I will turn my hand to anything given half a chance. I probably make about 50ish sticks a year mostly just for fun.
