I tried chewing on some meadowsweet root during the summer and I have to say it wasn't pleasent. Myself and my friend did it at the same time and the faces we pulled were totally undescribable! It was like eating the muscle relaxant 'deep heat'!! Dont know if its better to boil the root but I...
I just found something on the internet which has put a few thoughts in my head. Below it is copyed.

I always take with me the wee sachets of coffee with dried milk already mixed into them. Can also get the hot choc ones too. Very light and doesnt matter if they fold over on themselves cos never burst on me yet.
Hi there,
I bought one off the rivercottage website and I think its really good. He adds a touch of humour to it which is always good when such a serious topic is being explained! I also got a free online mushroom course when I bought it which was good timing. Brushed uo some basic ID skills...
It could be scarletina Bolete otherwise known as Lurid Bolete. When cut down the centre it will turn a blue colour, which in time fades slightly and with cooking fade altogether. One of the main features is to check the cap. If it feels almost like velvet the this could be your mushroom. It is...

definately a stinkhorn. believe it or not you can eat it before the fruit emerges from the egg sac! Stinks of decaying meat so that it attracts flies to disperse its spores from the sticky cap.
Hi there,
Could anyone help me with advice about shelter building? Im going to the forest on sat and would really like to build a shelter to sleep in overnight. Are there any good links so I can do a bit of research before I set off? I've looked in my ray mears book and think the dome shaped...
I seen ink caps about a month and a half ago and I'm in fife. Also seen chanterelles growing under a beech, at work I've seen tonnes of st georges, and quite a few strange out of season mushrooms. Not so many new brackets this year I thought though. Definately agree things are early this year but...

I've got a wee gerber sharpener which you pull the knife through. Its got rougher...
Question?
I recently got a new knife for my birthday. I was carving a few sticks in the garden with it and wondered ... Is this the sharpest the knife blade will ever be? I mean ... can you make it sharper than the factory has made it?
Can anyone answer this question?
Cheers.
