As has been said, You Tube is an innovation to Bushcraft !!
Lots of experts out there in the Cyber Wilderness now promoting their prowess and goods, "I can do this, do that, sell you this"......is it educational or is it a stage for the snake-oil sellers, whats yours thoughts guys?
Thanks for reading
Thanks for all the feedback guys
Varied opinions as expected and welcomed and that was the reason for my post in the first place.
As using this forum, doing emails, etc, is the boundaries of my IT skills I can safely say you won't be seeing my ugly mug on You Tube.
So, educational, everyone (even me) seems to think so to a degree, if the correct techniques are being displayed.
Recreational, it's obvious some guys enjoy doing it, so surely thats a good thing, good clean fun.
Snake-Oil sellers, probably some out there, However, I can see the benefits of plugging your business in this manner but I also beleive it might come back and bite you in the butt.
Personally, it's not for me, I'd rather shove wasps up my butt than watch YT for more than 2 minutes, I would lose the will to live, I prefer getting out and having a go.
One final thought is, I bet the guys that get a bit radgy at peoples comments about their vids are first to have a dig at Bear Grylls, etc, seems to be a one way street, the criticism thing - I beleive it opens the door for improvement.
Thankyou everyone for all your input
