is there any prawn/shrimp i am likely to encounter on the UK coast that can not be eaten?

They eat all the crud lying about on the bottom so if you are by a sewage outfall that is what they will be eating, concentrating and passing on to you. Just like filter feeders look at the water quality. One meal probably won't do you any harm but in areas where the water is not the cleanest I would not eat them regularly.
