I simply don't understand the purpose of the design... Sure, it looks cool in that whole '60s retro style, but what advantage does it have over a simple survival bag?

The comments gave me a giggle...

'the end is near... when you find yourself sleeping in nutsacks'.

'Contemplate this on the tree of scrotums... I mean woe - the tree of woe'.

:lmao:

It's one of those designs which only look feasible when drawn correctly.
In practice, I reckon it would look crap and be really uncomfortable - I also don't really see why it offers anything over the existing options.

Wouldn't airflow leech all your heat due to compressed loft, ala hammock?
No chance of snuggling up to a fire, or even tending a stove either.

I think i'll keep saving for a jerven bag.

You are cold, wet and need warmth and shelter. To use this item, you need to hang it from a tree. Why not construct a shelter from the tree and burn the dead wood around it to keep warm? Looks like a product trying to find a problem to solve, the problem being folk that want to look like scrotums!

Edit: Should that be Scrotii? Pedant required!

Did someone call? ;)

Mirriam-Webster say scrota or scrotums, but my spell-checker baulks at scrotums. I wish the OED wasn't subscription only...

Scrota it is then! If you could find other people with the same bit of kit, you could create a Scrota Moot! Oh, how much fun would that be!

Edit to add: Strange that there is a plural for scrotum. Who has more than one?
