I'd been promised some rabbit portions by my boss at work but they are now not available however diced rabbit is. I want to do a rock oven at the bushcraft zone at Gilwell 24 this saturday with the rabbit and maybe some Sweet potatoes etc but will diced meat cook too quickly to make a pit oven a practical way of cooking it?

I seem to recall Ray cooking a leg of venison and the timing was 2.5 hours. If diced ain't gonna work can anyone recommend a modest(ish) joint or whatever to ask for instead and if I got sweet potatoes would they need putting in whole/ quartered etc? Thanks in advance!

As long as they are well wrapped in moist leaves, about 60 minutes should do it very nicely if diced. You'd need to quarter the potatoes I imagine.
