A really simple bow made using only this:

More about it on my blog. I really do wish I'd got some pictures of it in use. It fires quite well, fast and strong. And it's made from privet - who'd have thought.

Nice one, my messing about in the garden today consisted of clearing a load of Russian ivy, tidying the log pile and cooking the kebabs for missus and daughter. Still at least the sun shone all day.

I've never thought of privet as being a bow wood! Is the bow still going?

Hi....my messing about in the garden today consisted of getting my bottom whupped by The Rose Bush Of The Baskervilles, losing 3 fingers to a rabid newt who ambushed me from under a brick, the lawnmower broke and the line feed on my strimmer started playing up too. then it rained.

tomorrow i'm making a bow (out of rose!) lol!
