Kestrel in the distance+ Robins+squirrel etc.

i had to get out today when i saw a bit of sun...

i know NFD,but he was some distance away [big crop] i have seen him hovering to hunt before but miles away to far to snap.

equipment used
nikon D3s
nikon 300mm F4+ tc1.4

i decide not to crop these so you can see how close i was

this one always shimmy's down this branch sideways to get the peanuts i put on the post.

this one is cropped so you can see the feather detail

it depend on your lens, i only ever use nikon lens and converters

on a F4 lens i will use a TC 1.4
on a f2.8 lens i will use a TC1.4 or TC1.7

the lens needs light to autofocus
i had a TCx2 but i sold it and wont use one again you are pushing to far against science

what camera you got?

the canon and nikon 300mm f4 is the wall for price and weight
i cant carry anything heavier and at about £5,000 i cant afford it.
the 300mm is a beauty
