In fact after the lovely grub, I think all attendees were 'HEAVY', let alone the pictures
I was Billy Nomates set up off to one side as I didn't want to upset anyone with either the rancid smell of decaying brains and hides or my rapid and frequent descents into gibbering tourettes... Actually the tipi was an inspired workstation but tbh, I have much comfier nights hammocking now my bones are getting older!
I was just across from the site of the Medieval moated farmstead, just LOVE this area although the guys were asking what the mad dancing lights from ma tipi were at 5am sunday morning... *hums Twilight Zone theme *
Everyone had a bit of a graft, Birthday or not Here's Martin & Clive producing the fuel for Karls megameal cooking marathon!
I've got a thread going on the tanning of the furry deerskins so I won't overload by posting here too... ah well just the one, then
Jason's fabulous spitted salmon, filleted & boned absolutely beautifully!
It's annoying me that I saw the reverse side of the fillet and couldn't help wondering just how hard tanning fish skin would be.... but its so darned pretty!
And it looked even more appealing from the business side!
And it tasted absolutely DIVINE, there was tons of beautiful, flavoursome, fragrant and succulent meat on it... it was truly heavenly!
Well fed and tired, I had to repair early to the tipi to get some warmth into my bones... not just Martin having hot flushes this weekend
There was a light rhime of frost on the SSSI moated area on Sunday morning. Not too cold this weekend tho, bet it didn't go much past freezing.
Martin made tons of meths can burners, in 2 different designs, no less! Heres examples of both having a quick blast...
Huge thanks to all who offered support and advice on the hides and especially those who fed me Am extremely grateful and a very, VERY happy 30th birthday to our Karl! xxxx
