So what you've got now is a dried, hair on hide? You can soak it in water and wood ashes for a few days until the hair slips easily. Then remove the hair and epidermis and then if you dry it agin you'll have rawhide. If you want to tan it then don't dry it out after dehairing it, proceed onto wringing and braining etc. it's a complicated process to describe but tanning is a fun pastime.
