yep french love the good Celtic/viking reenactments too!
The new Pixie association recently had their first gaulois (Celtic) gathering/festival with pig roasting, battles and crafts going on all day. It turned out to be a great success with a surprising number of public interest.
Having been appointed countess of the association (being english as well) the 'french gaulois warriors' have expressed there desire to cross swords with the britsh celtic/viking warriors to test their skill :swordfigh :yikes: (or lack of ). .
They would like to know if there is any of you out there willing to come over to the charente area in France next year. Of course the warriors are welcome, as are the craftsman. There will be Free food and drink all round . Although this year was a day event if there was a lot of interest from you guys, we could make it a 3-6 day event to make the trip worth while. .
They are also looking for volunteers to help them finish the fortress woven walls and build a big communal Celtic style house in the middle.
We (as our farm is in the gironde area) will also be building up a Celtic style village in our 8 htres of mature woodland, starting this autumn, for those interested.
The idea is to create celtic style villages through out france, with each village having a few gathering/festivals each year, with all the other villages attending.:thinkerg:
any thoughts, comments or people interested please post away.
