Who am I?
I was born August 14, 1860 in South Shields, England.
I was an noted author and wildlife artist.
It is said that I influenced Lord R.S.S Baden-Powell
I wrote the following, among others:
The Book Of Woodcraft
The Forester's Manual
Studies in the Art Anatomy of Animals
Trail and Campfire Stories.

Went to live in British Columbia with his wife, renovated an old cabin & learnt how to live off the land.
Wrote several survival books which his artistic wife illustrated.
The construction of a dam on a river near their home forced them to move, ended up in California where they built a house.
Died in 1997.

Lived in a cave in the 1920
Arguably invented camping and adventure holidays by offering his guideship
Invented trousers that could be turned into shorts.
Was a right soap-dodger.

I was born to Polish parents in Canada in 1940
I was suspended from university for "a complete lack of direction"
I teach bushcraft skills to military and civilians.
I am well known for saying " the more you know the less you carry"

Born on the 17th january 1907 in Lancashire.
Despite being a good pupil, left school at 13 & worked as an office boy.
Took evening classes in accountancy , which enabled him to further his career in the local borough council.
Discovered a love for the outdoors later in life & wrote & illustrated many pictoral guides of his favouroite walks ( at first for his own use, without any though of publishing them). they remain very popular to this day.
defender of animal rights & gave most of the profits from his books to animal charities
A society in his name was founded in 2002 with the aim of continuing & preserving the things he promoted through his books.
