Yeah, it was oak. I thought all the Galls were big blobby things, didn't realise they could be like that.

I suspected a kind of Lichen, i must admit.

I was really hoping that plant was self heal, i will look for it again. The flowers didn't look as droopy as it did in the pictures I've seen.

The selfheal in my lawn grass grows short and dark like that, elsewhere it grows as tall as the wild oregano and the flowers are on longer spikes and like dark lavender ones in colour.

I noticed the same.. In the cut grass the flower head barely makes it above the grass, yet in the woods its up to about 7 inch tall. I thought it was a different plant :eek:
