Hello, I'm new to the forum. Just wanted to say hello. I'm a Canadian living in the UK for years. I grew up rural near nature and used to hike the Rockies. Have since gone pretty urban in my adult years but starting to get back into my outdoors skills and planning a future somewhere greener with a little homestead.
It's great to see how many people in the UK are into bushcraft. Although Canada has more truly wild wilderness and more people spend time outdoors, I think there's actually quite a lacking in bushcraft get togethers there. There's survivalist stuff but a lot less bushcraft stuff and less connection with traditional skills. I think perhaps Canucks like their modern outdoor gear and toys and maybe have a less romanticised view of nature? I'm just guessing here.
But anyways, I look forward to learning all I can from here and hopefully finding some events to brush up on my skills.
