Well I hadn't seen either posting until now and think that ideas just great! I have a log burner and in the winter it gets very demanding ofr its diet of wood and chopping the logs can be a bit of a drag if you have to pick up the same piece time after time.
I have got round it a bit by using a log splitter wedge and a club hammer, that works well enough too.
