Antler handled fire steel

Hi, I've just made myself an antler handled fire steel / ferro rod.

Please can anyone advise whether I need to apply any surface treatments to the antler?

Apologies if the questions been covered before, but I couldn't find an answer when I had a brief search.

I made one a few years ago and never gave it any treatment and it still appears fine

Superb job, and usually if you fixed it with a water tight glue it does not need any treatment,
But if you like the look of it now and dont want it to fade just give it a small lick of beeswax its helps protect the antler

And I guess I'm not the only one, we wanna see pics my friend ^^
