Advise on a canoe trip on the Ardeche or simular.

Myself and a friend would like to do a canoe trip for about 4 or 5 days. I mention the Ardeche as my eldest child is having a school trip down there next month and it looks realy nice. But anywhere could be good.

To put it in other words. 2 blokes in a canoe that we will need to rent, on a river, camping out for the nights and putting the world to rights. Don't mind where, but it will have to be September or October or later in the year.

Any ideas would be very helpfull.

Thanks for the info, any one else maybe something in the UK i was also looking at the River Wye.

have a look on 'song of the paddle' forum. you've loads of options without having to go abroad. the wye would be superb, but don,t ignore the canal network.

in 5 days you could do cricklade to the sea on the thames, though shortening the trip to take your time, fish, pubs etc... maybe stop after oxford somewhere....
