Terrific contribution to our knowledge but one could wish that it had come in smaller sections. Huge problem created by these storms from the sheer number of sites and material revealed. It will nearly all be destroyed throughout the year. One specific thing about such revelations, as with new roadworks and developments inland, is how large the population of Great Britain must have really been compared with historians' estimates before such hard data was available.

Very interesting :) thank you for the link
Interesting too to read about the barriers that were built further along the coast and how they might be the cause of the sand removal. Sometimes fixing one issue merely creates others :sigh:

Y'know ? if the Dutch can polder an area like that, I have to wonder why we can't ? The Geologist and Geographers have clear sound evidence that the rapidly shrinking Vale of York will eventually bite right through that bit of England by simple erosion.
Imagine the finds for the scientists in the far future :)

cheers,
Toddy

Hmmm - massive flooding. Clearly the ancient welsh were heavily industrialised and caused man-made global warming. Shame on them............
