So how many of you wear camo, be it jacket or trousers .. Or both, watched a clip on you tube and was mentioned to steer clear from wearing it ???
What are your thoughts?

Not another blooming camo thread.

OP, have a look and search the site, this topic has been done to death, killed, murdered, destroyed; in the words of my late uncle Rubin "enough already".

I usually avoid it but the current crop of British army clothing is a lot better than that of yesteryear so I have some surplus army clothing.Plus I have some of the desert boots made by Mendl, they aren't waterproof but they dry out fast anyway and are very comfy.

Its cheap (to buy not quality wise) and hardwearing kit nowadays.

I tend to wear natural colours including olive and DPM (camo) which makes observing wildlife easier, that said I do keep an orange reflective jacket and an orange rucksack cover with a solas reflective tag handy just in case I ever find myself in a situation I want to be seen. Thus the best of both worlds

Well, if you like the idea of being hidden in the cabbage patch. by all means wear the cabbage gear, as I guess it might help with the hunters and the like where they think an animal can't sense their presence, but if one has no need to blend in with the surroundings why wear the stuff other than it's cheap and disposable.

Personally I prefer not wear the cabbage gear unless I knew it was going to get wrecked or it was heaving down and the surplus goretex has to be worn as normally I won't go out if it is that bad, but I will and do wear ex military clothing but if I can find it, which is not easy these days I search for plain OG and black.

But as to camouflage, a few summers ago I was on a golf course pursuing the art of photography in one of the roughs, a golf ball rolled by a few feet from me and as I was technically not meant to be, I froze and stood still. Along came the owner of the ball looking everywhere until I said where it was and he was shocked to find me a meter away from him, he said he didn't see me against the trees wearing camouflage. it was only when I stepped into the light he found I was wearing purple, and it was oh, you are not wearing camouflage, but he said I shouldn't be there as I could get hit by a ball, my reply was so could he in here now and my risk is my risk, but he walked away with a lot more than his own ball as I showed him were most end up.

The thing is and try it if you wish, just stand still and silent and see how much people notice you, that is if you want to prove to yourself one does not have to be in camo to hide as most people only tend to notice anything when they see movement.

I just found a pair of old 'Nam era Tigerstripe combat trousers. Proper bo.

I used to wear a lot of camo trousers, especially paired with some obscure heavy metal band t-shirt. Not so much now.
