Woods And Walk...

Hello People, had a bit of a week as some of you know! Well there is no better way to de stress than get your self up the woods! Get the whole family on a firewood gathering session for a future camp, have a good old wander round, make the woman in your life some decent coffee, gather a load of sweet chestnuts (boy they are good this year)

Then go on a lovely walk, in great surroundings, to tire everyone, including the dog,go home and have a roast.

Looks an excellent head clearer Ivan, and some scran thrown in for free - cant beat it. The wee doggie seems to like the camera. What's the tree in picture 20? You roasting the chestnuts tonight?

Hi GB, yes siree, did us all good, i am going to take more pics of that tree, it's a young ash, with a strange spalting, only on one side, but the wierd thing, it's growing like a sucker in the middle of a clump of common alder, right on the river bank, most odd!

Oh, saving the chestnuts, and going to gather some more, they are in abundance.

I used to do this kinda stuff with my dad and have a lot of fond memory's. Great for the family and good for the mind. Looks like a great day out.
