With winter fast approaching, I was wondering what projects have people got in mind to keep them busy during the cold spell while mother nature wants to keep us in front of the fire drinking coco.

Some project I have planned are:

Making the Toddy Bushcraft shirt
Snowshoes
Plenty of spoon carvings
A winter camp or two
Finish my ash bow.

I've been getting a few leather work tools together recently, going to start with one of those ozhaggishead pouches I think.

Pole lathe
Shave horse
Composting toilet

These are for use in our woodland group projects and events next year. I of course will have a shave horse and lathe of my own, so long as I can convince swmbo.

My wife will hopefully be making me a Toddyshirt!

Stuff I plan to do:

1. Continue to make spoons and bowls.
2. Learn how to properly sharpen my knives and a new (old) hatchet I bought.
3. Char the birch polypore and clematis down I've had kicking about for use as natural tinder, along with a reed mace seed head harvested yesterday.
4. Get properly competent at hand drilling. I've improved but not to where I want to be.

Plenty to keep me busy :)

I'd like to try the bush shirt too. As well as a sledge.
