Where in South Dartmoor?

So we're planning a little trip to Cornwall with a stop over at Dartmoor. The plan is to travel from around Torquay/Dartmouth, wild camp at Dartmoor then head off Westwards the next day.

Does anyone know any good spot in South Dartmoor to camp? Maybe up to an hours walk from somewhere we could park the car, in case the plan doesn't work out in the night.

We should have enough water so it doesn't need to be near a water source but that would be preferable anyway. Any other useful information about camping in Dartmoor is also welcome (landmarks, what to see, short walking routes, etc)

I have camped in and around Avon Dam near South Brent,i was there last week with a wild camping virgin and quite possibly could not have picked a worse day/night,the one thing about that area is there is not alot of natural protection from the elements,on the plus side if you have EA rod license there are plenty of wild brown trout in the res to catch.
