Treefest Edinburgh 9th 10th june

The treesfest in Edinburgh is coming up.

Not totally bushcrafty, but theres always been a lot going on the last few years...

I just printed out the Map and there is Spoon Carving and hat making demos, Primitive Fire making demo, Rope Making demo, Wood and Stone Carving, Leather Crafts plus lots more.

I am hoping I can persuade the family that there is enough to warrant a 45 min drive to get there.


The Company doing the Primitive Fire Making Demo is a company called Blue Skies.

Has anyone had any experience with them?

If its the same blue skies, Kate Hedges is in charge there, she taught me to do bow drill fire making, very approachable and happy to share knowledge.

I should be there on the Sunday - I've been there the past few years and can recommend both Kate Hedges demos and the rope-making demo which is a fascinating demo of cordage on the large scale (but still done by hand). Might even see some of you there!
