i havn't worked since christmas but i remember last year i was pollarding some sycamores and they where dripping like a tap! can't remember quite when it was, posably february? im suprised they are in bud, have you got any pictures?

no pictures sorry, the brash was burnt. i did think "owww i`ll take a photo...bugger forgot my camera" burnt the brash, then my mate turns to me and said why did`nt i use my camera on my phone........BUGGER !

sycamore is an acer (the maple genus) so yes ok to drink and posably make into a syrup similar to the maple syrup you buy in the shops:)

yeah, i noticed some hazel the other day with catkins, i reckon because it warmed up over about 3°C after the freeze the plants were confuddled.
now we have the snow again mind.
