Hi,

I'm pretty new to actually paying attention to the trees around me and was wondering if i could have some help identifying a few. Apologies if this is already on the forum but I couldn't spot it.

Thanks in advance

So I thought these first two were a type of willow but I'm not sure what type. The leaves seem different to pictures of crack willow i've seen.

So I thought this might be hazel but again it looks different to pictures.

And I thought this might be hornbeam:

First one hard to tell from pics.

Second could be wych elm. give the leaves a rub and if they feel like sandpaper its wych elm.

Possibly hornbeam.

Best way to ID is to get a close look at the leaves and how they attach to the stem. Also a good shot of the bark too. All good fun tree id. :(

Agree with wych elm, picture of the bark would help, at first glance the leaves can be confused with hazel.
agree with hornbeam from the leaves.
The first one could be goat willow but the pictures of the leaves are a bit hard to tell.

The collins book is a great help but not all the pictures are useful, I use the large book and pocket versions as both have different images of some trees.
