Found a great one at the car boot.

Will make a great prezzie for Finnish aunty...as well as a container for the many preserves...

Ill post pics in the morning

It has a very nice grain pattern...how best to bring it out?

I have linseed oil, Tung oil and beeswax to hand.

what do you suggest??

It depends what it has been treated with before. If it is dry and unfinished then I would probably go with the tung out of those, If your linseed is a good cold pressed oil that is equally good but some find the smell off putting at first. Finnish aunty would probably like the linseed smell though. If it has had some finish of the hard, varnish type then wax would be better.

Typical tropical hardwood bowl, made from half a log sapwood on the edges. The grain pattern is just what you get when you turn half a log. Top and bottom you can see the annual rings as if cross cut.
