Just been looking on the internet for Aboriginal weapons and came across this story. The Extraordinary Tale of William Buckley. It's about an Englishman who lived as an Aborigine in Australia for 32 years after escaping from a penal colony. I have never heard of him before until today. I really enjoyed watching it and thought I would share it with others. Also does anyone else know of any similar stories?

He is where the expression "you've Buckley's or Buckley's chance" comes from.
Nice to see Les (Bush Tucker man) there as well.

There is a bit of controversy about the origins. I have a friend who is passionate about the William Buckley origin, personally I like the origin my dad gave me:
there was a large department store in Melbourne called “Buckleys and Nunn”. So if you have “Buckleys chance”, then you have none !
The historic signage is still in place in the city if you want to visit ?

Others certainly think it came from William Buckley – Perhaps it’s a combination of origins ?
