Places to play

Many of us have favoured sites where we either work or volunteer & where we teach, demonstrate, practice traditional skills, bushcraft and so on. There's a wonderful network of places such as heritage centres, countyside parks, re-enactors villages, etc., scattered around.
Which would you recommend, and why? What sorts of events, activities or research, do they focus on?
