Which one? The little one in front of the 32" x 40" acrylic painting is a single piece of Western Red Cedar log shell.
It's mounted on the tip of a metal rib which comes right through the painting from the rear frame.
The big one in the foreground has head and shell in WRC and the legs in birch.
The shell was a part of a 36" log, typically rotten in the core.
I've just finished carving the leg sockets and the head and body are done.
The legs are done except for the final cutting to see a dry fit. Dowel pegs and glue, I should think.
I'm pleased that you like both of them!
