Went for a very short walk today ;) and came across this fella;

In turn she got up for a wee walk and spotted some eggs too, 3 we think, can only see one in this shot but we think there's 2 or 3;

Back she comes (assuming it's a she) to settle back down;

The good thing is I'll be able to watch this develop as it's right outside the office window! :D

Theres one that was nesting right under the sign into my town last year, the amount of times I go past that and never noticed it then one of my brothers mentioned it and its right there in plain sight.

Wee update, it being easter and all, some egg shots!! How hard are these to spot through a wee viewfinder! Can you see them?

Usually have an Oyster Catcher nest at my work as well.

I hasn't appeared yet this year. :(

This was taken last May

She had 3 chicks that hatched but only 1 was seen with her later.

The chicks are even harder to see than the eggs when they are still.

Well as Mesquite predicted, they hatched last Thursday but I was in Oregon so here are the first piccies. This one is looking down through the glass as they were just below the window so it's a bit of a poor piccie!

3 chicks, with a definite pecking order, they're all different sizes and have different mobility, ie the bigger ones move faster and more often that the smaller ones. Mum taking them for a walk;

The biggest of the 3 chicks, the smallest is very reluctant to move and is pretty slow and wobbly.

And here's why, billy bunter here, snagging all the grub (well worm in this case) and running before his brothers or sisters get any! Life's hard when you're the youngest in the brood (hmm maybe that's why I'm such a fast eater...:D)
