Yesterday I completed my first knife handle. I decided to replace the handle on an old Frost Clipper and decided I wanted to use Yew. I carved the basic shape using a knife then used a rasp file to refine the shape. I then used varying grades of sand paper and Linseed Oil to finish the handle off.

In the New Year I will be collecting the tools and materials to make a sheath; I have never worked with leather before so I am looking forward to doing that.

Nice handle. What did you use to set the blade into the handle? You'll enjoy the leather work, I think. To me, making a sheath for a knife is very enjoyable. Like to see it when you've finished......Bruce

Cheers Bruce

I epoxied it in after after drilling it. I am looking forward to doing the sheath and i will definitely post up some images when it is done.

I have not decided to do a wood/leather sheath or just a leather one.
