Following on from my first blog, I didn't manage to get away on Thursday so it was Friday morning we got to Loch Ard. My dogs called Ciara (pronounced Keera) she's two now.

Put in at the Iron Cross again, crew's all aboard

You can just see her thinking "are you not ready yet?"

Nice day for it

Ciara was fine in the boat she just sat there looking around. "Great" thinks I, no worries here. Then she moved!!!!! The boat wobbled so quickly I'm sure my heart stopped as I tried to tell her " sit, lie down and stay" all in one very fast word

I get to unpack, mutt goes exploring

All set up and puppy on guard

I spent the next while just paddling around enjoying the tranquility and practising my J-stroke.

The wind got up a bit

Then calmed right down. It was a beautiful night.

Ciara had realised she didn't need to chase the moths, just lie next to the candle and they came to her

Guess who lost the race for the bed as usual?

Sunday's sunrise was stunning over a still Loch

I spent a while just paddling, drifting and listening to the birds

All too soon it was time to pack up

Ciara fell asleep almost right away. I think she likes the boat

A fantastic end to a great couple of days

I had a great couple of days. Having the canoe now opens up all sorts of new possibilities :) Ciara is fine in the boat too, unless she moves :lmao:

nah, not this time. I wanted to spend most of the time getting used to the canoe. Typically saw lots of nice rises, there's some big fish in there.

Yeah mate but I knew if I took my rod I wouldn't have been able to resist it and I wanted to spend more time paddling this trip.

It's a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS1 (American version of the TZ6) I've not had it long but I really like it, easy to use and takes a great pic or video.

Yeah John, paddled down the narrows on Tuesday when I first went to Ard with the boat and again on Saturday. You're right it's a great part of the Loch :)
