Identify my Axe head

Hi All,

I'll post a picture when I get home but I'm hoping someone might know the answer. I have an Axe head with a 'H' stamped on the top between the cutting edge and the handle, any idea of the maker?

No, it's closer to a standard capital 'H', but slightly curvy. I'll see if I can find a font like it.

Ok, looks a bit different now I've run a file over it. It was found in my brothers back garden, no idea of age.

It might be 'H' for Halfords for all I know, but I'd like to know if anyone has an idea. I'll try and find some ash for a re-handling project.... amongst the other 5,000 things I have to do!
