Had an idea for a ferro rod

So rather than what I usually do, I decided to just make it.

Cherry wood top and ash on the bottom, separated by 1mm aluminum. Gave it a brief brush of linseed oil and made a little leather tab for it.

It's a bit rough looking as I made it quite quickly to test the idea, but I'm happy enough with it.

Very nice, dewi. What did you pick for adhesive to hold the pieces together?

Glue wise I ended up using Gorilla glue... scratched the face of the aluminum to make sure it stuck to it... then wrapped it length ways with some masking tape before clamping it.

Enjoyed making it, and now I know I can sandwich materials together and get a strong bond, I'll try out some others I have in my head.
