Hi Everyone
Wooplaw Community Woodland (three miles south east of Stow, four miles south west of Lauder, five miles north of Galashiels) is having it's yearly green woodworking weekend on 28th and 29th of May. See here for further details. Have a look at the other events organised throughout the year as well.
Various bits and pieces of woodworking taking place - likely to be spoon, spatula and butter knife carving, shavehorse and pole lathe set ups to try, even make your own shavehorse or pole lathe. If I get my act together, I might have a bowl carving set up to use.
NB - if you want to make a shavehorse or lathe, please do contact the Wooplaw people - contact details are on their website.
There are 40 acres of woodland to explore, various places for tent camping, bivvying and hammocking if that's your thing. Wooplaw doesn't have running water other than a wee burn which flows through lots of farms, so you might want to bring water in with you....
Cheers
