Given two old knives

These two are Milbro Kampa knives I was given in a house clearance. Anyone know anything about them?

I had one similar by a Sheffield maker but forgot his name doh!Great knives and to be given them you must be well pleased!

Yep pleased! The workshop of this chap who died was full of tools and stuff and we were told to have anything we wanted! Some great stuff in there and lots of engineering tools, machinery and bits and bobs.

While having a cursory rummage today I spotted these knives. Some amazing stuff but it's such a shame that they were once someone's pride and joys and now just cast aside by the relatives as junk!!!

They are what i would call "boy scout knives" nothing concrete behind that name. Just that they were popular with scouts years ago

From my limited research I think they are from the 60's?

I had one exactly the same as the larger of those two - my uncle bought it for me sometime around 1976. It's still in my mother's house somewhere. I don't have any other information about it though sorry.

Mine got properly put through the wringer - I must have made a thousand pointed sticks with it as a lad!

We still have two of those, definitely from the 1970's, and both bought from the Scout Shop in Glasgow.

Mine couldn't keep an edge worth a damn. No idea why, it just didn't. The other, larger, one is fine though.

I had one of the smaller ones. Blade so soft it went blunt cutting butter

I have one like the larger one and it was my old mans old scout knife, dirrence in mine it looks to have a bottle opener on the guard.

Me too. Very popular with scouts in the 1950s. I had a double sheath with large and small knives. We used to take them to school!
