bigger knife with horisontal or vertical carry sheath, . kind of Bowish

Here is a bigger knife I made. Did the blade from 12c27 steel 17 cm length and the handle from flame birch, nickelsilver,brass and leather. The sheath i did from rawhide leather to carry vertical or horisontally. What do you think??

Wow.. That knife looks beutiful. Whats that design on the back of the blade? is it a thumb rest?

Thank's. The design on the back of the blade is filework for decoration but can also be used as thumb rest.

The flame birch my father is having for me. He lives in North Finland (Lapland) And finds it in the forrest.
