Right, it's time for you to vote on the first monthly heat of this year's photo competition, the January heat .

As usual the theme for the first was ''Photographers Choice" and I'm pleased to see we have a nice wide range of subjects. It's obviously a very popular subject for folks.

Anyway, as in previous heats the winner will go through to the grand final in December, also their picture will be used on the BCUK Facebook page.

Great number of entries for the Jan heat lets hope it continues. I really cant decide which to go for too many good shots.

Very difficult this time. I managed to shortlist it to two and only voted for the one I did as the other has been set to my background image on my desktop and have seen it more...

I don't like competitions because aesthetic judgements are so subjective. The consistently high quality of all entries makes choosing a winner based on quality impossible; they should all have first prize!

I vote often just to encourage entries so that I can enjoy a monthly treat, but feel that my choice is usually no better than picking a name out of a hat (a Tilley, of course) as they are all so good.
