I like DIY solutions 
My latest cast iron girdle cost me about that including it's postage though. It's round and fits on a modern hob, and that's what I was looking for, not so much for baking pizza in the oven.
The bakestone thing came from Lakelands, and it was double that price all those years ago. Of the two, if I could only have one, I'd keep the cast iron girdle, but then, I grew up baking on one of those and all these years later it's still my default setting for baking I suppose.
