Here are a few pictures that I shot near my cabin in Arkansas. All of the photos were taken within 100 meters of the cabin with the exception of the last one.

I thought it would give you some idea of the diversity and beauty of the area. Hope you like them.

Citronella bush. Really keeps the bugs away!

I believe these are young Pawpaw trees. They are a semitropical tree that has a somewhat banana like fruit.

"Hollow" or small canyon just east of my cabin

A deformed young beech, probably some interesting grain in those curves

An interesting stalked fern. The stalks were about one ft. high

Oddly shaped Beech

Very large, and no doubt very old, grape vine. Watch for scale

That looks great :D Also would like cabin pics! I'm trying to convince SWMBO to let me build one when we move back to the states, so inspiration is needed :D

The cabin has been about 80 percent completed for some time, I'm not a rich man, and I dont like to borrow, so it has been on a pay as you go basis. But, I am nearly finished. When I am, pictures will be forthcoming.

It is 24ft. X 28ft with 8ft high walls and a very steep roof. This allowed a small bedroom upstairs.

It is 2 X 6 inch construction, as opposed to the normal 2 X 4. This allowed 6 in. of insulation everywhere. The upper bedroom has a small 5500 BTU airconditioner and it cools the entire cabin down to a very comfortable temperature even on 100 + degree F. days.

I'm doing it up in an old West motif. Hope it comes together for me. (I have a brown bear head mounted and buffalo skull) Later, I'll hang my percussion, black powder rifle.
