Well I needed some time out with lots of fresh air. After a chat with my brother, we decided on Dartmoor. I have a favourite spot up there called Bonehill Rocks.... I'm sure many have been there yourselves...
....A convenient spot with parking for the car close by. The views are great and a big sky for watching the pending meteor shower was a real bonus.
The next few photos showing our kit and our basic setup...
My brother found some pebbles on a beach recently... Both with holes in. He new they had a use when putting up the basha's....
...he's a clever lad really!
Camp set.... Time for a brew on the trusty trangia....
Stayed up to watch the clear skies and chat about old times. We realised that it had been about 20 years since we last camped like this.... Just as brother's, without our families. How time flies!!!
In the morning, my brother awoke first to grab a fetching photo of me asleep in my bivi and then the sunrise...
Breakfast followed with a discussion what to do. No rush to leave....
...thought we'd hang around a while and 'dress' my Kubben Axe with a new wrap.
....realised I hadn't taken a photo so the Kubben Axe so the photo was of it finished on my desk at home.
After a couple more brews and the knowledge that the weather was about to turn very wet, we packed up camp ensuring no trace of our stay was left. The trip back home and to drop my brother off on the way took a couple of hours, during which we made plans for a longer trip out in the near future.
Twas a super little trip!.....
