The chubby and tall one :D
The first one is a short chopper in 10mm thick 5160 steel. Its 220 mm long and 45 mm wide, handle in stabilsed crotched valnut . The Machete is in 3 mm thick UHB15LM carbonsteel, i have to comeback with the legnth and width . The handle is in G10.

Im in the process of designing a machete with a uk based knifemaker, what length do you suggest I go for? im thinking 18ins for a basic blade?

it depends what you going to use for, where their is snakes,longer ones 18" to 24":Africa, Asia, shorter ones and lighter ones,for Thailand, Malaysian jungle, or even Borneo, 14" to 16": cutting,slashing, opening trails, where there is a lot of thick vines and bamboos. Also shorter ones as a fighting weapon, if the needs maybe!
