    Tarp & Hammock in Sweden?

Great advice guys! Think I'll get a DD setup with the underblanket and a DD Jura 2 (new model) to go with it. Will probably not go hammocking in the freezing cold but it's nice to at least have the option.

    A sleeping fox

Hmm, that's odd. Might be a limited edition. I'd have a look around their website. There are a lot of Fjällräven fanboys (and girls) so you could possibly sell it for a good price, pick up another model that is more suitable for bushcraft duties. Can't really go wrong with their canvas stuff.

    Gränsfors Bruk Outdoor Axe opinions?

I am looking to chop some wood with it so I'm wondering if half the weight will be worth it over the sfa. Guess I'll just have to pick it up and sell it if I find it to be too much fiddly for my intended use.

    Gränsfors Bruk Outdoor Axe opinions?

In a Swedish bushcraft book, 'Skogsliv', by Lars Fält he recommends an axe weight of around 0,5 kg, no wonder since his GB axe is just that. So, anyone tried the outdoor axe? How does it compare to their other models?

    A sleeping fox

It is indeed Fjällräven, a superb Swedish brand that produces really high quality gear. They make really great jackets. I think they invented the use of canvas for backpacks and jackets. Really expensive though. I've had a Greenland jacket that I've used every day from spring to autumn for 6...

    Compound bow

If you haven't shot a bow before I recommend signing up to a club and shooting a recurve first. It's very important that you get the technique right so as to not develop a habit of drawing your bow in a way that can create muscle issues. A 60 lbs bow is very heavy to draw. You might be lifting...

Help needed! The nesting cookware resource thread!

So, I'm really fond of putting together my own set of nesting cookware! Because of this I thought it would be a good idea to put together a list of stuff that nests! To keep this scientific and accurate, I hope you will all help me compile this list. Here's how it could work: You have...

    Tarp & Hammock in Sweden?

Any gear recommendations for hammock camping when it's a bit chilly? I'm thinking a DD superlight setup + underblanket + hammock-sleeping bag.

    Tarp & Hammock in Sweden?

Hello BCUK, this is my 4th post so please have patience. The idea of a tarp & hammock setup seems really attractive to me but I'm worried that it's too cold where I live, in Sweden, except in the summer. Would you consider it to be a viable option in temperatures as low as -5 degrees celsius...

    Hello from Sweden

Thanks everyone! Really great finding a forum that's a bit closer to home, not that the bcusa forums don't have it's own value but when watching ex mcq bushcraft vid on YouTube I sense that the plant life and environment in sweden is more similar in the UK than the US.

    Hello from Sweden

Hi, I'm relatively new to bushcraft, but have been wandering in the woods, foraging and playing around with wood since I was a kid. Also a member of Bushcraft USA but felt there were was a different feel to this forum. Cheers
