Hi All,
I've been struggling to sharpen my fjellkniven and noticed today that its got quite a warp in it. I suspect I damaged it when battoning some wood.
Is it ok to put the knife in a vice and bend it straight ? Or should i try and do something different ?
Any advice is much appreciated...
Victorinox got back to me and said it would cost 10 euro and 8-10 weeks to change the blade. I'm happy with the cost but can't be without a knife for 10 weeks. Think I'll give it a go myself...
Cheers,
Ringo
Thanks guys. I sent victorinox an email earlier asking them if its possible to buy the non serrated blades - i'll see if they come back to me.
I'll be honest with you, im very nervous about wrecking the blade if i mess with it. I'll think about giving it a go!
I also saw the one handed...
I've just seen this review of the "trekker non serrated" knife! I wonder if victornox send out blades so i can replace mine..

Hi,
I've had this pen knife for about six weeks now and whilst I am getting more used to the serrated edge I'm still not happy with it.
It's great for it's purpose - which I imagine is survival orientated more than anything (it is the same knife as the soldier version as far as I can tell)...
I've got a stearns back country and it is fantastic for what it is. It is of the same build as the Colorado but I got it 2nd hand off eBay :)
I stored it on the back of my camper van and the whole family used it on our tour of France last summer. It takes 15 minutes to inflate (if that) and...
Thanks for posting. This is great inspiration for a future project - I look forward to trying it.
Out of interest, how long does it take for the shrinkage to occur?

I noticed the tut tutting stopped about 5 years ago. I don't know if this was in relation to me getting older and hence "less risk" or the realisation that if they don't stop being snotty gets then this recession really is going to bite their business.
As a camper van owner I don't do glamping...
I was wondering if there was any conclusion to this thread? I'm considering buying the adze on eBay linked above? Did anyone get one in the end? Worth buying?
Thanks,
Ringo
Nice. Thats a great find.
I am currently carving my first bowl and also started looking into getting an Adze.
Needless to say I haven't bought one as I can't justify the cash at the moment. There is one on eBay from Bulgaria for £30 ish which I am considering.
I would be interested to hear...
Hi guys,
I just thought i would introduce myself having been hovering round this forum for quite a while but not actually posting anything.
I'm a huge fan of outdoor life but i tend to do most of my camping in my VW camper van with my family. I've got it setup so i can go out in it all...
