    i'm just thankfull that i know some basic survival skills. keep out of the wind. stay carm. insulate yourself from the ground and most importantly stay warm. we found a tree with a natural trench under it with plenty of moss to raid. i will never go out without my basic kit again.

    thats just mad. but i can talk because i have a spetznas shovel. i have a problem with shovels that fold. the hinge is a weakness an will break with excessive force. stick to the good old gru spade anyday. its become an old friend on camp.

    looks like a lot of money for something you can do without. just use a sandwich bag or small pill tubs work well. why does it need to be waterproof. are you going swiming with it.lol

    i was only trying to cut out the weight of the tin by trancefurring it to a different container but i guess i could live with it. besides it'll only be in there the first night an it'll get eaten so its no big deal.

    thanx for all the replys, i'm not fussed where my noodles come from, the cheaper the better i say. its just one of those ones that fits in the billy well an has no weight at all. what sort of bag do you use for the contense of your tinned food?

    my prefured camp ration is noodles an i discovered a classic mix that works. its noodles, chopped tomatoes and corndbeef. its brills. just adds weight to the pack. post your fave veriation on noodles. it would be good to get a list of noodle ideas. oodles of noodles.

    i use king alfread or a bracket fungus i found at a country park. can't remember what tree it came from. its also a knifestrop fungus.
